ANIMATE! MIAMI will have dozens of cosplay and costuming events over the course of the 3 day weekend. Stay tuned for updates as we will be adding information to this page often.

COSPLAY INFORMATION BOOTH
Located at booth #920 in the Main Exhibiton Room, the Cosplay Booth is the place to sign up for ALL cosplay related events and get all your cosplay event questions answered. This is where you sign up for the Costume and Cosplay Contests! The Cosplay Information booth will be open each day during Exhibition Room hours. Plus: If you have a problem with your cosplay such as a rip or tear, the Cosplay Medics will be available to help patch you up. 

COSPLAY PHOTO BOOTH
Located at booth #924 and 825 in the Main Exhibition Room. Want to get your picture taken in costume? Swing by the Cosplay Photography Booth and get your picture taken by our pro photographers. All the photos will be posted on our website after the show for you to download.

RUNWAY COSTUME CONTEST
Friday, January 18 @ 5:45pm
This contest will be "Runway" style. There will be no pre-judging. Contestants can enter in store bought or home made costumes. AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: Best in Show, Best Anime Character, Best Comic Book Character, Best Video Game Character, Best Cartoon Character, Best Sci-Fi / Fantasy Character, Best Group, Best Youth, Judges Award #1, Judges Award #2 and Judges Award #3. Additional awards may be created at the judges discretion. Prizes will be announced soon.

THE SIRENS OF ANIMATION COSTUME CONTEST
Friday, January 18 @ 9:45pm
A special costume contest showcasing our favorite good and bad girls of animation & anime! This contest will be judged by a special panel consisting of some of industry guests and professional costumers. This is a runway style contest with no pre-judging. Costume's may be of any female character that appears in anime, cartoons or video games. Costumes may be handmade or store bought. Since this contest takes place late at night, no one under the age of 17 may enter this contest. AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: Best in Show, Best Good Girl, Best Bad Girl, Best Group, Costuming Directors Choice, Judges Award #1, Judges Award #2 and Judges Award #3. Additional awards may be created at the judges discretion. MASQUERADE COSTUME & PERFORMANCE COMPETITION

The Masquerade Costume Competition is where costuming and cosplay go to the next level! This is a competition based on performance and presentation. Contestants can enter as individuals or as a group and will be judged based on stage performance and costumes. Think of it as a costume talent show... more than just a cosplay contest, this is your chance to put on a performance as the character(s) you are portraying!
OVER $750 IN CASH & PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED AT THE SHOW!
$250 CASH PRIZE FOR BEST IN SHOW!

COSPLAY PHOTO SHOOTS
All weekend long we will have separate photo shoots scheduled to showcase a specific group of characters. Anyone cosplaying from the specific group may paricipate in the shoot. Each shoot is 30 minutes. Each shoot is open to everyone to watch and take pictures of cosplayers. Photographers are welcome. A staff photographer will be on hand to take pictures for our Flickr and Facebook pages, to be posted after the show. .

HALLWAY COSTUME AWARDS
Each day our secret judges will make their way around the convention on the look out for costumes that stand out to hand out award ribbons. This is a weekend long event.

COSPLAY DANCE OFF!

So you think you can DANCE and COSPLAY at the same time?  In this cosplay contest, your dance moves and your ability to improvise is your ammo!  We want to see your best ballet, belly dance, break dance, hardstyle, hip-hop, jumpstyle, krump, mambo, modern, pop n’ lock, salsa, shuffle, swing, tap dance, and any other dance style you can show us as you freestyle your way to the top!  Come in costume by yourself or with a friend, and show us how your talents mix with the world of cosplay!
